Oliver Williams is a Managing Director in FTI Consulting's Strategic Communications segment and is based in London.

Having spent time in FTI Consulting's London and Washington DC energy practices, he has considerable experience across the entire industry value-chain, working with super-majors through to low-carbon technology pioneers still in pre-commercialisation.

Oliver joined FTI Consulting in March 2008, helping to launch the firm’s London Energy and Low Carbon offer. Much of this work focused around building profile for new companies, utilizing their technologies and services to differentiate them from existing offers in the marketplace.

Oliver has supported businesses in tackling a variety of communications challenges, helping them manage issues and crises, navigate periods of regulatory and legislative uncertainty, attract investment and target the financial community, and build credibility through third party endorsement and awards campaigns.

Between 2014 and 2019, Oliver was seconded to FTI Consulting's US Energy and Natural Resources Practice. During this time, he primarily focused on developing and executing complex, multi-faceted advocacy programmes, aimed at influencing policy. Working with some of the world’s leading energy companies, he led campaigns which successfully impacted federal regulations across a number of areas, including offshore development, US LNG exports, proposed federal fuel subsidies, and the Securities and Exchange Commission’s corporate governance system.

While based in DC, Oliver also participated in the 2017 Securing America "Energy Security Fellows Program".

Oliver has experience in the European Parliament and the House of Commons, having worked in the offices of Dr. Charles Tannock MEP and former Secretary of State for Health, the Rt. Hon, Virginia Bottomley MP respectively. He is a graduate of the University of Exeter.
