Christopher Halas has over 14 years of consulting experience in the areas of litigation and international arbitration. His work encompasses assessment of liability and quantification of damages and focuses almost exclusively on cases involving banks and other financial institutions.
Mr. Halas has worked on matters before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the Commercial Court of England and Wales, the Court of First Instance of Monaco and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Halas also advises banks and their legal advisors on their responses to financial regulatory investigations.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Halas worked at NERA Economic Consulting, first in the Securities and Finance Practice in New York City and then in the European Finance, Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in London. He began his career as an analyst in the treasury department of insurance company ACE Group (now Chubb) in Philadelphia.
Mr. Halas graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in Economics (with Distinction) and Political Science and holds a master’s degree in Finance from London Business School.
Mr. Halas is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) Charterholder and a Financial Risk Manager – Certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
