Wayne Lowe is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting. He is a member of the Strategic Communications practice and is based in the Cape Town office.
Wayne specialises in integrated external communications, regulatory and reputational issues, stakeholder engagement and government relations.
In recent years, Wayne specialised in tobacco and the energy sectors (petrochemicals - oil and gas), renewables healthcare, life and general insurance, asset management, pension funds, local government, property development, alcohol, publishing and e-commerce. Wayne has advised the Public Investment Corporation, the South African Government Employees’ Pension Fund, Futuregrowth Asset Management, the City of Cape Town, Chevron, PetroSA, Philip Morris International, Sanlam, Santam, Institute for Justice and Reconciliation and Cape Town Central City Improvement District.
Additionally, Wayne has worked for the U.S. Commercial Service, the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration and the Public Relations Global Network where he was chairman of the business committee.
Wayne's earlier career positions include working for South African mining house JCI in the gold and uranium and property divisions and in broadcasting, with the BBC as a researcher and producer.
Wayne holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Political Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand. He served as a curator for the World Design Capital Cape Town 2014.
