Raj Juneja is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Charlotte. He is a member of the Performance Improvement practice within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. Mr. Juneja is responsible for the implementation of performance improvement and business transformation initiatives to enhance business value.
Mr. Juneja has more than 20 years of global experience in operations excellence and technology initiatives across the supply chain with global industrial corporations. His background includes business issues resolution, program management (operations, engineering & IT) and business system deployment and assessments.
Mr. Juneja has delivered projects in plant turnaround, working capital optimization, distribution network and supply chain optimization, foot-print optimization, warehouses and sales offices consolidations, localization, strategic outsourcing, supplier performance management, enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) systems implementation, sales and operations planning (“S&OP”) process improvement, general and administrative (“G&A”) cost reduction, process re-engineering and customer and product profitability analysis. He has also defined and created operational and supplier performance metrics and scorecards for aligned and improved decision making.
Mr. Juneja’s specific projects have included leading a supply chain/inventory work stream to assess, identify and prioritize working capital reduction opportunities of $180 million for a carved out $6 billion specialty chemical manufacturer. He led the implementation and attainment of $133 million in savings to date, reducing days sales of inventory (“DSI”) from 199 days to 120 days and leveraging several initiatives. Mr. Juneja also led a plant turnaround for an industrial manufacturer focusing on core competencies and the central purpose of the business, as well as leveraging cause and effect matrix and value stream mapping (“VSM”) to align and prioritize key projects in strategic outsourcing, process streamlining, visual management and Kanban. His efforts resulted in a profitable plant with breakeven sales reduction by 40 percent.
In addition, Mr. Juneja reviewed multiple distribution centers for a global industrial manufacturing business, guiding a team to optimize inventory management, warehouse flows and space utilization that lead to a reduction from seven warehouses to two and substantial logistics cost savings. He also was the engagement lead and support for a troubled European (Italy, Germany, UK) strategic initiative of a global Tier 1 automotive supplier. His leadership brought the program to success by restructuring and reenergizing the team, prioritizing and creating a road-map to implement an on-time initiative. Mr. Juneja led a sales offices optimization initiative for a high volume low mix electrical consumer product manufacturer, providing detail analysis and recommending a hub and spoke strategy to reduce the number of sales offices by more than 50 percent. His leadership efforts reduced inventory by 45 percent and there was an overall cost-out and value creation of $5 million with improved on-time performance.
Mr. Juneja provided guidance to a Chinese/European team in order to localize several electro-mechanical products for a $15 billion global industrial manufacturer in the Asia Pacific region, optimizing cost and lead time and eliminating large in-transit inventory to be competitive in the market. He also spearheaded efforts with an industrial manufacturer to reduce inventory days on hand (“DOH”) from 85 days to 60 days through leading and supporting initiatives like localization, cycle counting, vendor managed inventory (“VMI”), S&OP, process streamlining and visual management. Mr. Juneja was also involved in a capital equipment acquisition for a global industrial manufacturer (including machine tools, assembly and test line), from supplier selection to equipment verification and implementation.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Juneja held senior positions and diverse roles within global Fortune 500 industrial manufacturing companies, as well as top consulting firms, including Cummins, Eaton Corporation and Ernst & Young.
Mr. Juneja holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Gujarat University in India, an M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering at Technical University in Berlin, Germany and an M.B.A. from Indiana Wesleyan University. He has received several awards as a lead assessor of the Malcolm Baldridge award criteria based business system.
