Ed Vaizey is a Senior Advisor at FTI Consulting. He is a member of the Strategic Communications practice and is based in London.

Ed has been a member of FTI Consulting's Technology Media and Telecommunications Advisory Board since March 2019, where he has joined at one of the most important times for the rapidly evolving tech, media and telco industries.

Ed served in the David Cameron government as Minister for the Digital Economy from 2010-16, and is the longest-serving Minister in that role. He was responsible for the roll out of the successful £1bn rural broadband programme, and 4G.

During this time he helped make the creative industries the fastest growing part of the UK economy by introducing tax credits for film, television, animation, and video games. He was also closely involved in the national, European and international debates on internet regulation and technology policy.

Ed was educated at Oxford University and practised as a lawyer before entering Parliament. He is an honorary fellow of the Radio Centre and the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a visiting professor at King’s College London and Newcastle University.
