Colleen Hsia is the Head of Americas Financial Services and advises clients on high stakes communications challenges and business strategies, particularly during moments of transformation and change – including SPAC/IPO transactions, mergers and acquisitions, business transformation, shareholder activism, litigation, and regulatory enforcement actions.
Ms. Hsia has worked in financial services for two decades and served as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders at leading banks, asset managers, private funds, real estate firms, insurers, and fintech/trading platforms.
Before joining FTI, Ms. Hsia served as Global Head of Marketing at Jane Street, where she led the development of its external communications strategy across offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong. Jane Street is a proprietary trading firm and market maker trading over $10 trillion annually across equities, ETFs, options, bonds, and cryptocurrencies.
Ms. Hsia spent many years at BlackRock in New York and Hong Kong – when she led teams in institutional sales and marketing, ETF marketing, investment content, and retail product strategy. She led BlackRock’s first joint venture product launch in China and secured an invitation for the QDLP (qualified domestic limited partner) program through an educational platform she designed.
Prior to BlackRock, Ms. Hsia was an investment analyst at a multi-strategy hedge fund that she joined on day one and grew to $4 billion in assets as Head of Business Development and Investor Relations. She was previously an investment banker in the Real Estate and Lodging Group at Citigroup.
Ms. Hsia holds B.A. degrees in Economics-Political Science and East Asian Studies from Columbia University. She earned M.B.A. degrees from both Columbia Business School and London Business School. She is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (“CAIA”) and is fluent in Chinese. She sits on the New York City Executive Board of the CAIA Association and is an active facilitator of the group’s fintech and cryptocurrency discussions. She is also a Global Angel for 100 Women in Finance and a Board Member of Futures and Options, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering New York City’s underprivileged youth.
