Andrew Lorenz is Senior Managing Director in the FTI Strategic Communications practice and is based in London. He serves as Chairman of Financial Communications for the UK practice.

Mr. Lorenz joined FTI Strategic Communications London in 2000 after 11 years on The Sunday Times, where he was Business Editor. 

His main clients are Babcock, Capita, GKN and Tata Sons & Tate & Lyle.

Mr. Lorenz was previously Deputy City Editor of The Sunday Telegraph, Business Correspondent of The Scotsman and Industrial Editor of the Newcastle Journal. He was Manufacturing Journalist of the Year in 1999 and 2000 and Business Journalist of the Year in 2000. He was a Member of the Department of Trade & Industry Manufacturing 2020 Foresight Group. 

He is the author of five books; A Fighting Chance; British Manufacturing Industry in the 1980s; BZW: The First 10 Years; End of the Road: BMW and Rover – A Brand Too Far, The Unsung Guru and GKN: The Making of a Business. 

Mr. Lorenz was educated at Stamford School and Worcester College Oxford where he studied Modern History.
