Eddie Lam is a Managing Director in the Forensic Accounting and Advisory Services segment of FTI Consulting and is based in Shanghai, China. Mr. Lam has provided accounting, investigative and compliance related expertise in litigation, crisis and audit situations for more than 15 years. He has led engagements in over 20 countries spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas, assisting clients with numerous regulatory inquiries and other allegations, including financial reporting fraud, corruption/bribery and employee misconduct.
Additionally, Mr. Lam has significant experience in advising on and implementing various proactive audits (including compliance, operational and financial) that help companies protect their interests, both commercial and legal.
Areas of specialty include forensic accounting investigations, compliance program design, evaluation and implementation, compliance/FCPA oversight audits, litigation support, third-party compliance due diligence/audits, third-party investigations, pre-transactional due diligence, crisis evaluation and advisory (including fact finding missions in disputes with third-parties such as joint venture partners), and arbitration and dispute resolution.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Lam was a Director for the German engineering firm Siemens, based in Beijing, China. At Siemens, Mr. Lam was responsible for overseeing all compliance related audits and forensic accounting matters in the Asia Pacific region. This included designing and implementing a global anti-corruption initiative for Siemens where external third-parties were systematically assessed and audited as part of the overall compliance program to ensure adherence to relevant rules and regulations as well as contractual standards. Before that, Mr. Lam was a Director in PwC’s Forensic Services practice out of New York.
Mr. Lam holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from the Stern School of Business in New York University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
