Meet Our Graduates

Who better to give you an idea of what a career with FTI Consulting could mean to you than the people who already work here?

In His Own Words — Dugie Young

Dugie is currently a Research Analyst with our Economic & Financial Consulting practice in London.

I joined the Economic & Financial Consulting practice as a new graduate after completing my undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University. A large part of the appeal of the job for me was the extent to which the day-to-day work engages your creativity. You are encouraged to show initiative in the tasks you are given and there’s a lot of variety in the work, which keeps things interesting. The work itself is challenging, but people in the office are always quick to offer their help, which makes a big difference when you’re starting out.

In Her Own Words — Lea Cosic

Lea is currently a Consultant with our Forensic & Litigation Consulting practice in London.

I joined the Forensic & Litigation Consulting practice eight months ago having been attracted by the firm’s history of working on some of the world’s most high-profile cases. In my relatively short time here I have been involved in a number of exciting projects ranging from bribery and corruption investigations to covert due diligence to fend off a rival takeover bid. The graduate programme here offers both immediate responsibilities and a strong support network that recognises and rewards your hard work, and the lack of a rigid hierarchy has allowed me to work directly with senior staff from a variety of different departments. FTI Consulting’s combination of services has given me the opportunity to work with industry leaders from across the business. In addition I have been able to use my languages and travel to client sites as part of high-profile investigations.

In His Own Words — Ntobeko Chidavaenzi

Toby is a Consultant with our Strategic Communications practice in London.

Having interned in public affairs and communications roles before joining, the Strategic Communications practice and the opportunity to rotate through a number of specialist sector teams during the graduate scheme was very appealing. Aside from developing my knowledge of corporate and financial communications, I’ve learnt a great deal about specific industries such as real estate, private equity and energy having had the chance to complete placements in these respective teams over the last year. The graduate training sessions helped equip us with the skills we’d need on a day to day basis and our teams are excellent at exposing us to as broad a variety of work as possible. During my time as a graduate consultant I’ve had the opportunity to work on an IPO, a number of mergers and acquisitions and also worked directly with the senior management teams of FTSE 100 and 250 companies.

In His Own Words — Sam Farley

Sam is currently a Consultant with our Technology practice in London.

Having graduated with a First Class Law Degree and Distinction in MSc International Management from the University of Exeter, I looked for a job that would enable me to operate in the legal and business world, while still pursuing my interest in technology. The Technology practice at FTI Consulting offers the opportunity to work hands-on with industry experts from day one, within a culture that is focused on developing your talents and playing to each individual’s strengths; this for me meant that within only a few short weeks I was actively participating in client meetings and presenting to partners at some of the UK’s leading law firms. I already feel that at FTI Consulting I will only be limited by my own ability and aspirations, with an open door policy to a senior management team that value ideas on their merit, not their origin.

In Her Own Words — Charlotte O’Brien

Charlotte is currently an Associate with our Corporate Finance & Tax practice in London.

I joined the tax group as a new graduate after completing an MSc in Economics at Warwick university. I was looking for an intellectually stimulating, dynamic and project-based job that working in tax has provided. With client exposure early on, the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and the chance to develop my technical knowledge through professional qualifications, working at FTI Consulting has provided a great start to my career in finance. During my first year I have been able to work on many different projects, ranging from a secondment with a major London property development company to assist with their Corporation Tax and VAT returns to helping to establish a research and development claim for one of the largest media conglomerates in Europe.
