At FTI Consulting, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we work, to building innovative and mutually beneficial partnerships with charitable organisations, and to managing our environmental impact.

Our Corporate Citizenship activities are aligned with both how we do conduct business as a firm and the core values that FTI Consulting professionals live in their work and daily lives. We seek to share the core skills of employees, which are individual to our company, with those organisations and young people we help.

In the EMEA region, our Corporate Citizenship activities have five main strands:

  • Environment Sustainability and Employee Health and Safety

Charity of the Year
FTI Consulting’s UK charity partner for 2017, as voted for by its employees, is Place2Be. Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert training to improve the emotional well-being of pupils, families, teachers & school staff.

Evidence shows that Place2Be’s counselling services make a real impact: 82% of the children they worked with last year with a high risk of a mental health problem showed improvement in their individual evaluations.

Charitable contributions from the FTI Consulting London team will be used to: recruit, train and support 108 Volunteer Counsellors needed across the 23 schools in Shoreditch to deliver the essential one-to-one counselling service for children who might be facing challenges such as physical and sexual abuse, neglect, bereavement and witnessing domestic violence at home.

Other Charitable Giving
FTI Consulting operates a Give As You Earn scheme that enables all UK employees to make a regular pre-tax commitment to charity through the monthly payroll; a very simple way of maximising the value and impact of our donations to designated charities.

Employee Volunteering
FTI Consulting encourages all staff to use 8 hours per year to volunteer and use their skills to benefit the local communities in which FTI Consulting operates.

In the London office, FTI Consulting is proud to have partnered with the Citizenship Foundation to develop an innovative economic and financial literacy educational programme aimed at young people, called Boom, Bust & Crunch.

The programme has been devised to increase understanding of the causes, events and implications the global financial crisis of 2008, and FTI Consulting’s professionals across all five businesses were responsible for helping to develop content and produce the materials.

Since 2012, we have worked with over 140 professionals who have volunteered their time to deliver the programme to 420 students in schools across the UK. Ninety-three percent of all the students who have taken part in the programme have stated that it has increased their knowledge of the economy and 100% of the volunteers said that they would volunteer again, and in 2016, FTI Consulting and the Citizenship Foundation were honored by The Corporate Engagement Awards with Boom Bust & Crunch winning the Gold Award for the Best Educational Programme.

Corporate Sponsorship
FTI Consulting in the UK is proud to be a partner of the Royal Academy of Arts (RA) and relevant membership organisations. Through the RA, the firm is committed to helping increase accessibility to the arts.

We also work to create mutually beneficial relationships between the charitable organisations we support and our partners.

Pro-bono Projects
FTI Consulting provides pro bono services for a variety of organisations, and in recent years our EMEA professionals have worked with MEAM (Making Every Adult Matter) and the Royal Institution on specific issues that require the expertise and experience of our people.

The Environment:
Our London office has achieved and maintained the ISO14001 standard since 2016.

This accreditation is highly regarded as it demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and the environment. Our Facilities Management team works with our professionals and suppliers across the organisation to continually review, manage and improve our processes to minimise our impact on the environment and increase efficiency.

During the move of our London offices in 2014 to our 200 Aldersgate offices, our Facilities team procured furniture proven to come from an accredited sustainable source, as well as installing sustainable lighting and top of the range Air Conditioning systems to further reduce our environmental impact. Continuing the Firm’s progress towards becoming eco-friendly, we also encourage staff in all our offices to recycle using shared recycling banks across the floors.

Employee Health and Safety
FTI Consulting is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for its employees and others who may be affected by its work activities. FTI Consulting recognises its statutory obligations to maintain standards of safety for all its employees in every aspect of their work in relation to buildings, plant, equipment and workplaces, and for continually ensuring that these obligations are fulfilled. FTI Consulting also acknowledges its obligations to members of the public, contractors and visitors to all of our premises and locations and will ensure that measures, where necessary, will be taken to maintain their Health and Safety.
